Inter Outreach Ministries was started in 1991, by a group of people from different Churches who had a burden, and were already reaching out to the lost in the Inner City. They formed a team and began reaching out on the streets and into the nightclub areas. Using creative ministries as well as evangelism to reach the lost.
Now the vision has become directed specifically towards healing the broken and our main target group is the prostitutes.
The Director of Inter Outreach ministry, Marge Ballin, was saved out of the "Hippie culture" in 1969 where she was involved with drugs, eastern mysticism and the occult. She had a number of year’s experience in running halfway houses for ex-drug abusers and ex-homosexuals and prostitutes as well as doing street work and coffee bar friendship evangelism.
After this Marge worked with YOUTH WITH A MISSION for nine years, where she received training and worked as a missionary for nine years. Her missionary involvement included working in the Red Light District with prostitutes in Amsterdam as well as with heroin addicts and Moslems. She has worked in a number of countries on outreaches doing evangelism, teaching and creative ministry using the medium of drama.
Apart from her training with Youth With A Mission and completing two schools with them, Marge has completed several years of Bible School and training courses at GOOD HOPE CHRISTIAN CENTRE and is a graduate of HIS PEOPLE BIBLE SCHOOL in Cape Town. Because she has herself experienced deep emotional healing she has a burden to see broken people in the inner city brought to salvation and restoration, especially in the area of inner healing and discipleship. She also has a desire to see labourers raised up to work in the inner city. Marge was the co-founder of Inter Outreach ministries, since taking over full leadership however, much of her own experiences and gifting have shaped the ministry into what it is today.
